What is the best home bleaching hair kit?

I have a redish brown hair colour currently & am thinking of dying my hair blonde. I was thinking of using a normal blonde, home hair dye kit but then read on the internet that it would make my hair turn orange. The advise was to use a home bleaching kit but it didn't specify which would be appropriate. Any ideas on the make & brand this would be?
I live in the UK, I don't know if there are different American brands that we don't have in the UK...

firstly - is your hair currently all natural or previously processed (dyed)?
if it is natural then yes - you would need to bleach and then tone - toner is vital.
if it is dyed then you would need to use a colour remover before even bleaching, otherwise it will never get any lighter than orange. colour removers are vital in a colour correction process
as for the best boxed bleach to use - well i recommend Garnier: http://www.boots.com/en/Garnier-Nutrisse-Blonde-Pre-Lightener_924260/ (most hair bleaches are labelled as "pre-lighteners" this is because being blonde is a 2 step process, bleach and then tone, as mentioned above)
