How can I help my lip piercing heal (3 months)?
I've had my lip pierced(snake bites) since august (just over 3 months) and It still won't heal. I'm extremely frustrated with one of them and I've tried doing the sea salk mouth rinses and I've been using the H2ocean spray for it. I've also been using this mouth wash called Biotene (alcohol free). The one piercing just won't cooperate and I may have figured out as to why it has been taking so long. I think the one piercing hit a nerve because my jaw will hurt if my piercing is hurting. On the inside of my mouth there is swollen red skin around the piercing and sometimes it covers it up completely. I really don't know what to do! I don't want the puffy red skin to cover it up for good! Anyone have any wise words of wisdom? How long is this going to take if it did hit a nerve and if so how do I heal this thing??
Generally you don't want to use anything other than sea salt water to clean oral piercings. Just swish and use a qtip to get any outside crusties. Also, make sure you are really on top of your oral hygiene.
I really think you should go back and ask your piercer to take a look at it. They really are the experts on this stuff. If you don't trust the place you got them pierced at, try to find a more reputable studio and ask the piercers there. I'm sure they would be happy to help.
